Recently, i have taken an interest in Edgar Allan Poe’s work. I ended up with a book of his stories at some point during university and only read two stories, “The Tell-Tale Heart” and “The Masque of the Red Death”, the former because of an episode of The Simpsons where Lisa does a project on it, and the latter because i studied it.

So i have been reading more of his stories, and also started reading his poems, of which i had only ever heard of and read “The Raven” which is a fascinatingly dark piece which i rather like.

I am working my way through his stories and have recently read “The Black Cat”, “The Oval Portrait” and “The Fall of the House of Usher”, all of which are dark and mysterious. Poe’s work is a little bit depressing but still great to read!
