Hello and Happy New Year!
I hope you all had an excellent festive season! I know it’s difficult to get back to normality after the excitement of Christmas and New Year, and the fact that it’s January (with its gloomy weather and leftover turkey and shabby tinsel) doesn’t help!
Never mind.
It’s a new year and i am looking to reading many more books! I have given myself a new challenge for 2013:
Yep, last year i managed 71, and this year i’m going for the big 100!
To kick it all off, i’m starting with the books i got for Christmas:
“The Etymologicon” by Mark Forsyth, “Anna Karenina” by Leo Tolstoy, and “The Hobbit” by J.R.R Tolkien.
I have started two of them, and will hopefully get around to “Anna Karenina” when i’m done with those two. There’s lots of books sitting on my bookshelves which i haven’t read yet and a few waiting on my Kindle, so i have plenty to be getting on with for now!
I also received a DVD of a production of “Hamlet” by the Royal Shakespeare Company, starring David Tennant, so i am looking forward to watching that!
So, what’s in store for January? Well, i have a few belated book reviews from 2012′s list to put on here, and then a few posts about authors whose work i’ve got back into lately. And also, i have a new feature on this blog, where i talk about the film adaptations of the books i read under a new section called Films I’ve Seen.
And there’s more exciting things to come in 2013, but for now… happy reading!

Can’t wait to read what you think about Anna Karenina and The Hobbit.
